Recent CBF Meeting
The CBF spent last Saturday meeting for a few hours at Maiden City Brewing Company. First this location for out meetings is ideal...large tables with a good beer selection always makes an enjoyable time! Thanks for the folks at MCBC for being so hospitable.
We were able to determine three immediate goals/projects for 20147. First, replacement of the sign at the Count House. Second establishing the walking tour app. And third, striving to have one hundred members by the end of the year. As you can see but the picture, the sign is a serious need of replacing, and while we do have a source of funding (thank you, Morgan's Men Association), no one seems to have the original artwork to send to a sign maker.
The walking tour app should be ready for folks to use on the smart phones within a few months. This app will focus on about a dozen Civil War related sites within the heart of Cynthiana, and will be about two miles in length.
As for getting to one hundred members, this should be a goal that we do meet as we continue to increase our presence on a local, regional, and national scale. Most locals, and many Civil War enthusiasts and historians, know very little about the battles at Cynthiana, so while the Foundation becomes more known, we are hopeful that folks who find out about our little group will support us via membership.
Also, I have added some website enhancements again, mostly just applying a more consistent look to the website, but also adding some battle summaries written by Bill Penn.
